One, passed away at the Rockmart- Aragon Hospital Sunday. Mr. Smith was born in Alabama on November 24, 1875 and was a well-known retired farmer. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Gazaway of Rockmart; one brother, Herbert Smith of Gadsden, Ala.; three sisters, Mrs. Belle Garrison, Mrs. Minnie Payne and Mrs. Sis Welch, all of Attala, Ala.; and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Hixville Baptist Church with the Rev. Homer Pinkard and the Rev. J. T. Howard officiating. Interment was in the Aragon Cemetery. Pallbearers were Roy Goss, Edward Goss, Gene Collins, Jarvis Carter, David Baker, Ezra Ferguson, Lou Kenny and Junior Kenny. The Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
