Stephens wend@bellsouth.net March 24, 2004, 1:48 pm (The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA., Thursday, May 9, 1968, Page 4) Ollie Gus Cook, age 67, of Cedartown, Rt. 3, passed away Saturday at his home after a long illness. Mr. Cook was born, Jan. 1, 1901, in Haralson County, but had lived most of his life in Polk County. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Monday at 3 p.m. from the Second Baptist Church with the Rev. W. R. Simmone officiating. Interment in Centre Cemetery at Felton. Surviving are: his wife the former Miss Margie Tate of Cedartown; two sons-- Ollie E. Cook of Rome and William Howard Cook of Covington; three brothers--Homer Cook of Lithia Springs, Oscar Cook of Bremen, and Jasper Cook of Buchanan; one sister--Mrs. Ida Garner of Buchanan; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive. Pallbearers were: Lemul Abernathy, Herschel Brock, Frank Brown, John Hedgepeth, Gordon Runyen, Jasper Landrum. Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
