Atkins, age 84, of 804 Blanche Ave., Cedartown passed away Friday afternoon after an extended illness. Mrs. Atkins was born June 27, 1883 in Pickens County, Ga., but had lived in Cedartown for the past 75 years. She was a member of the Union Grove Baptist Church and WMU. Survivors include: three daughters, Mrs. Homer Moody, Mrs. Amos Brazier and Mrs. Herman Cagle, all of Cedartown; three sons, Jack Atkins of Rockmart, Horace Atkins, of Cedartown, and Lawrence Atkins, of Collinsville, Ala.; 35 grandchildren, 63 great- grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held at 3 P.M. Sunday from the Union Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Clinton Garmon, the Rev. Raymond Cook and the Rev. Marshall Reinhardt officiating. Interment followed in Antioch Cemetery. Pallbearers were: L.A. Brazier, Euzeal Atkins, Verdell Moody, Buddy Cagle, Jimmy Cagle and Tommy Atkins. Honorary escort was the deacons of the Union Grove Baptist Church. The Olin Gammage and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
