Sorrel, age 70 of 209 Atlanta Street, passed away late Wednesday after an extended illness. Mrs. Sorrells was born April 9, 1897 in Walter County, Ga., but spent most of her life in Cedartown. She was a member of the Congregational Holiness Church and was a retired minister. Survivors include: her husband, N. W. Sorrells of Cedartown; two step-daughters, Mrs. Ruby Simpson of Cedartown and Mrs. Annie Riley,, Lowell, N.C.; three sisters, Miss Beulah Youngblood, Mrs. Tots Stewarts of Lafayette, Mrs. Etta Steel of Piedmont, Ala.; four brothers, Walter Youngblood of Winder, Ga., Herman Youngblood of Delaware, Roy Youngblood of Hixson, Tenn., and Archer Youngblood of Chicamauga; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday from the Congregational Holiness Church with the Rev. J.D. Sosebee and the Rev. Edward Lynn officiating. Interment followed in New Harmony Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Don Williams, Jimmy Roberts, Everett Ledbetter, Elbert West, Tom Weaver and Vester Adair. Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
