Mrs. Bertie Smith of Georgia Avenue died early this morning in Lindale, Ga., 
after a long illness.  She was born Feb. 18, 1883 in Cherokee Co., Ala., and 
had lived in Cedartown for the past 10 years.  Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. 
Clara Duncan of Cedartown; one son, Jack Smith of Louisiana; one sister, Mrs. 
Buck Highfield of Lindale; one brother, Oscar Smith of Cave Spring; and 10 
grandchildren.  Services will be held at the Lake Creek Baptist Church at 1:30 
p.m. Sunday.  The Reverends Harvey Brown and Johnny Boatner will officiate.  
Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery in Forney, Ala.  Pall bearers will be 
Harvey Smith, Marvin Smith, Earl Smith, Everett Smith, Lewis Highfield and Bud 
Green.  The body will be taken to the home of Mrs. Lewis Drummond on Georgia 
Avenue until the hour of service.  The Olin Gammage Funeral Home is in charge
