(The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA., Tuesday July 18, 1944)
Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Tanner, who died Monday after many months of 
ill health, were held July 12th at Salem Church with Rev. Buddy York, Rev. L. 
A. Smith and Rev. Gordon Chandler officiating.  Burial was in the church 
cemetery.  Roberts Funeral Home in charge.  Mrs. Tanner had been a member of 
Salem Church for many years and was noted for her kindness to the sick and 
needy.  She is survived by one son, Mackey Maples, and five grandchildren, all 
of Cedartown; one sister, Mrs. Susie Duke, of Atlanta. (The Cedartown Standard,
