Geneva Arrington Smith, of Piedmont, Ala., passed away Saturday, Aug. 19, 2000 
at Redmond Regional Medical Center.  Ms. Smith was born September 30, 1915 in 
Cherokee County, Ala., She was a member of Salem Baptist Church.  She was 
preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt Smith and son, Leon Smith.  Surviving 
are: Ellie Carter of Tecumseh, Ala.; sons, Jimmy Smith and J. W. Smith, both of 
Tecumseh, Ala.; sister Mavis Joyce of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; brothers, Charles 
Arrington, Nathan Arrington, Thomas Arrington, Clifford Arrington, all from 
Dalton, and Parker Arrington of Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren; 12 great 
grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. Funeral services were held Tuesday, 
Aug. 21 at 2 p.m., from the Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Tate 
officiating.  Interment will follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.  
Pallbearers were: Chris Carter, Terry Smith, Scott Smith, Steven Smith and Rick 
Almon.  Mickelson-McGee Brown-Service Funeral Home had charge of the
