He was the son of Mattie and Tom Frawley of Cedartown, and was preceded in death by his father, the late Alexander Hamilton Stephenson, Jr. He is also survived by his wife, Chela Hyche Stephenson; children, Alex and Amber Stephenson; and brother, Jimmy Stephenson. One grandson also survives. A memorial service was held Sept. 6, 2003 at Mt. Zion Church of God in Snead, Ala. A private graveside service was held at Center Methodist Church. Honorary pallbearers were nephews, Jamie Bradley and Jason Stephenson, and friends Gary McGill, Philip Frazer, and Larry Wheeler. Abanks Mortuary & Crematory of Birmingham and Lemley Funeral Home of Oneonta, Ala., had charge of the arrangements.
