Stephens wend@bellsouth.net April 19, 2004, 11:41 am Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA, February 10, 2004) Joseph Franklin Burrell, 80, of 1116 Brooks St., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004. He was born Jan. 21, 1923 in Henderson, N.C. He was preceded in death by: parents, William and Pernumia Burrell; daughter, Frances Owen; step-daughter, Julie Fox; and step-sons, Charles and Freddie Reeves. Survivors include: wife, Mary Emma Deems Burrell; children, James Burrell, Howard Burrell, Patricia Owens and Tommy Burrell; and step-sons, Wayne Hardy, Paul Reeves and Richard Reeves. Thirty-three grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were conducted Friday, Jan. 23, at 2 p.m., from the Chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. R.B. Hulsey and Rev. Jerome Smith officiating. Interment followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Rockmart, with full Military Rites conducted by the Brewster Cleveland Post #86. Pallbearers were Timmy Reeves, Chris Hardy, Chad Fox, Gary Reeves, Michael Case and Joseph Burrell. Honorary Pallbearers were Tony Reeves, Charles Hardy, Billy Burrell and Kevin Reeves. Gammage Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
