J. L. Carter, 75, of 148 Cason Rd., Cedartown, passed away Monday, May 26, 
2003. He was born September 5, 1927 in Polk County. He was preceded in death by 
his parents, John and Grace Carter. Survivors include sons Johnny, Larry, and 
Phil Carter; sisters Ruth Brock and Cordelia Howard; and six grandchildren. A 
memorial service will be held at a later date. Gammage Funeral Home is in
