Stephens wend@bellsouth.net April 19, 2004, 12:07 pm (The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA., June 18, 2003 Wiley Jackson Casey, 73, of 142 Adams Circle, Silver Creek, passed away Friday, June 13, 2003. He was born Feb. 3, 1930 in Polk County and was a veteran of the Korean War. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of VFW Post 4911 in Rome. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia with a B.S.A. in Agriculture. He served on the Polk County Board of Commissioners from 1964 to 1968. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Foy Barton Casey and Evie Hackney Casey. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Faye Casey of Silver Creek; son, Jackie Casey of Cedartown; brother, Dr. Edwin R. Casey of Canton; sister, Evelyn Allison of Wattonville; 1 grandson and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Monday, June 15 at 11 a.m. in the Lime Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy McGuire officiating. Interment followed in the Lime Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
