Stephens wend@bellsouth.net April 19, 2004, 12:18 pm (Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA., April 29, 2003) Ott Chambers, Sr., 84, of 2999 Cedartown Highway, Rockmart, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2003 in Polk Medical Center, Cedartown. He was born Nov. 15, 1918 in Polk County and lived his entire life in Polk County. He was a former employee of both the Aragon and Goodyear Mills and for the past fifty years had owned and operated Ott Chambers Garage. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Tarbush Chambers; his parents, William Homer Chambers and Susie Jane Fricks Chambers; and five brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his daughter, Elizabeth West of Carrollton; son, Ott Chambers, Jr.; sister, Frances Hutchins of Rockmart; 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 24, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Minister Alvis Miller officiating. Interment followed in Polk Memory Gardens. Pallbearers were nephews Billy Jefferson, J.L. Jefferson, Chesley Chambers, Talmadge Chambers, Charles Chambers and Jimmy Chambers. The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
