Stephens wend@bellsouth.net April 20, 2004, 10:25 am The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA., October 1997 W.O. "Dub" Barrow, 76, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 8, 1997 at his residence. Mr. Barrow was born March 1, 1921 in Bowdon. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rockmart and the Rockmart American Legion Post No. 12; former owner and operator of the Guy Sloan Motor Company; and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served during World War II. He is preceded in death by his parents, W.O. and Alice Walker Barrow. Survivors include: wife, Eloise Barrow of Rockmart; son, William Lee Barrow of Houston, Texas; brother, Jack Barrow of Rockmart; and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 11, at 4, p.m., from the Rockmart First Baptist Church, with Rev. David Taylor officiating. Interment followed in Rose Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Bill Carlton, Bill Carmichael, Guy Atkins, Any Elrod, Rae Herndon, T.A. Willingham, and W. J. Wiggins. The Adult three Sunday School class at Rockmart First Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers. The Freeman Harris Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
