Mrs. Effiecile McWhorter Lee, age 83, of Mableton, passed away Wednesday, 
December 24, 1997, at her residence. Mrs. Lee was born August 30, 1914 in 
Haralson County. She was retired from the Arrow Shirt Company in Buchanan. She 
was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Sam Lee. Survivors include her 
daughters, Mrs. Charlotte Bartley, of Deerfield, VA; Mrs. Tiny Bates, of 
Bremen; Ms. Shelba Lee, of Mableton; Mrs. Peggy Ivey, of Villa Rica; and Mrs. 
Janice Folsom, of Lithia Springs; brothers, Mr. Julius McWhorter and Mr. 
Durelle McWhorter, both of Deerfield, VA.; and Mr. Dewey McWhorter, of 
Chattanooga, TN.; eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one great great 
grandchild, and a number of other relatives. Funeral services were held 
Saturday, December 27, 1997, at 11 a.m. from Hutcheson,s Memorial Chapel with 
the Rev. Robert Rudeseal officiating. Interment followed in the Buchanan City 
Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jesse Roberts, Brian Cox, Bo Cook, Danny Cook, Ricky 
Dobbs and Amos Sparks. Hutcheson,s Memorial Chapel of Buchanan was in charge of 
the arrangements.
