Hammonds, 90, of Hunter St., Rockmart, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003. She was born June 13, 1912 in Carroll County and was a retired Aragon Mills employee. She was also a charter member of Piedmont Avenue Baptist Church and a member of the Rockmart Lodge #321 Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by: husband, Perry N. Hammonds; parents, Jack and Emma Hembree Reynolds; sons, Bobby Donald and Neal Hammonds; daughter, Emma Jane Hammonds; brothers, Watson and Terrell Reynolds, and sisters, Lois Cole, Jewell Driver, and Gladys Argo. Survivors include: sons, Darrell Hammonds of Rockmart and Thomas Edwin Hammonds of Cedartown; brother, Wilbur Reynolds of Rockmart; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandson also survive. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Jan. 30 at 2 p.m. from Piedmont Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. John Hooper, Rev. Ed Pasley and Rev. Delton Harne officiating and eulogy by her grandson Darren Hammonds. Interment followed in Rose Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mark Hammonds, Jeff Hammonds, Brad Hammonds, Darren Hammonds, Larry Reynolds, and Hoyt Driver. Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
