Stephens stephens2247@bellsouth.net October 13, 2006, 8:26 am Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA., April 2003 Etta Womack “Granny” Harris, 92, of 1525 Davistown Rd., Taylorsville, died Sunday, March 30, 2003. She was born July 29, 1910 in Paulding County. She was also a homemaker and the oldest female member of Floyd Creek Baptist Church. In addition to working on the farm, Mrs. Harris worked in the Bartow school system as an aide and in the lunchroom. She also worked at the polling place on election days. She devoted her entire life to her family, her church, and community. She spent many hours sitting with the sick and disabled. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. “Jack” Harris; parents, Rev. John Will and Savannah Georgia Morgan Womack; four brothers and three sisters. Survivors include sons, Alton, Tommy, and Lamar Harris; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and four great great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at Floyd Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Fisher, Rev. Jimmy Cason and Rev. David Wilson officiating. Interment followed in the Floyd Creek church cemetery. The following grandsons served as pallbearers: Wesley, Bill, Jamie, Greg, Glenn, Eric, and Tony Harris. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to Floyd Creek Baptist Church, PO Box 241, Taylorsville ,GA 30178. Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
