Stephens stephens2247@bellsouth.net October 12, 2006, 11:36 am Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA., July 07, 2003 Elma Ruth Hed, 90, of St. Amant, Louisiana, formerly of both Rockmart and Cedartown, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2003, in Baton Rouge, La. She was born July 31, 1912, in Paulding County, the daughter of the late Etta Swafford and Lon Wix. She was a former Goodyear employee, homemaker, and a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Berford Head; son, Tommy Head; sisters, Ethel Burrell, Effie Robinson, Mattie Waldrop, Ruby Kirkpatrick, and Elsie Johnson. Survivors include a daughter, Jimmie Lou Winkles; daughter-in-law Jeanette Head; sister, Wilma Hughes; six grandchildren,14 great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, July 3, at 11 a.m. at Fairview Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Davis, Rev. Larry Ritch, and Rev. Billy Swift officiating. Interment followed in Rose Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Greg Robersob, Larry Casey, Paul Thompson III, Lawrence Scivicque, Jonas Crystal, and Robert Burch. Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
