Hinton Cedartown, Ga-Oscar M. Hinton, 84, of Cedartown Rte. 4, died Friday in a Cedartown hospital following an extended illness. He was born in Cherokee County, Ala., July 4, 1884, but had lived in Polk County most of his life. He was a member of Lee's Chapel Baptist Church. He was a retired employe of the Cedartown plant of the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Birty Molock Hinton of Cedartown; three daughters, Mrs. Jesse Newby of Cedartown, Mrs. Merle Froysland of Wilmington, Del. and Mrs. Earl Morgan of East Point; five sons, Luther Hinton of Cedartown, Robert Hinton of Rome, Norris Hinton of Alto, Edward Hinton of Crossville, Ala., and Vernon Hinton of Acworth; 24 grandchildren, 27 great- grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held today at 3:30 p.m. in the Bethel Baptist Church, Forney, Ala., with the Revs. Jim Hulsey, Amos Whitman and Eddie Williams officiating. Interment will be in Forney Cemetery with Olin Gammage and Sons Funeral Home directing. (Note: Died Aug. 16, 1968)
