Stephens stephens2247@bellsouth.net October 17, 2006, 10:43 am Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA, March 25, 2003 Ruby Wix Kirkpatrick, age 83 of 13 Crescent Dr., Cartersville, passed away Wednesday, March 19. Kirkpatrick was born July 27, 1919 in Paulding County and was the daughter of the late Rose Etta Swafford Wix and the late Lonnie Wix. She served as an employee of the Sears & Roebuck Co. for 34 years retiring as the head cashier. She and her husband were residents of Rockmart from June of 1991 until April of 1995. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Ethel Burrell, Effie Robinson, Mattie Waldrop and Elsie Johnston. Survivors include her husband to whom she was married 66 years, James E. Kirkpatrick, Sr.; two daughters, Melba Bates of Cartersville and Debora Feldman; a son, James E. Kirkpatrick, Jr. of Cartersville; two sisters, Wilma Hughes of Rockmart and Elma Head of St. Amant, Louisiana; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 22, in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church in Rockmart with the Rev. Larry Ritch officiating. Interment followed in the family lot of Rose Hill Cemetery. Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
