Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA., September 03, 2003
Minnie Lee Knight, 85, of 811 W. Girard Ave, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 27, 
2003. She was born April 30, 1918 in Jacksonville, Ala., to the late Berry and 
Pearl Calloway Ray. She was a homemaker, member of Youngs Grove Baptist Church 
and the Benedict Home Demonstration Club. She was preceded in death by her 
husband, J.D. Knight; son, Jerry L. Knight; brothers, Wilard and Donald Ray. 
Survivors include daughters, Sylvia Lumpkin, Sarah Dyer, Marie Womack, Patricia 
Jackson, and Charolette E. Jackson; brother, Harold Ray; sisters, Nell 
Newberry, and Jewell Pyle; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. 
Funeral services were conducted Friday, Aug. 22, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of 
the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home with Rev. Sammy Stephens officiating. 
Interment followed in Polk Memory Gardens. The family asks that flowers be 
omitted and memorial contributions be made to the Youngs Grove Baptist Church 
Building Fund. Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
