The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA, April 17, 2003
Ruth Roberson Knight, 77, passed away Monday, April 7, 2003 in an out of town 
hospital. She was born August 8, 1925 in Polk County where she became a life-
long resident. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church and was a 
retired employee of Georgia Power Company. She was preceded in death by her 
husband, William F. “Bill” Knight; her mother, Annie Pilgrim Roberson; father, 
Joseph Luke “Jake” Roberson; brothers, Bunyan and Clyde Roberson. Survivors 
include her daughter, Anne Clay; son, Tony Knight; sister, Barbara West. 
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, April 12, at 11 a.m. at the First 
Baptist Church with Dr. David Taylor and Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating. 
Interment followed in the Northview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Duane West, Jr., 
Ben West, Tommy Roberson, Carl Knight, Norval Knight and Stewart Roberson. The 
Gammage Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. (The Cedartown
