Stephens stephens2247@bellsouth.net October 17, 2006, 10:51 am Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA., June 03, 2003 Florence Kate Lanier, 85, of 315 Jones Ave., Rockmart, passed away Friday, May 23, 2003. She was born April 21, 1918 in Polk County to the late Etta Atkins Campbell and the late John W. Campbell. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rockmart and prior to retirement she was employed with the Cummings Dept. Store. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred L. Lanier, in 1960. Survivors include a daughter, Susan Wolfe; son, Steve Lanier; sisters, Mrs. Ed Campbell Hill and Elizabeth Campbell Young; brother, Mack Campbell; two grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Monday, May 26 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Carol Cook and Rev. Burch Fannin officiating. Interment followed in the family lot of Rose Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Don Lyle, Lee Cummings, Michael Wolfe, Don Tate, Larry Lyle, Roddy Austin, and Luke R. Hill. Nathan Dean and Bill Cummings served as honorary escorts. Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
