Col. Ralph Leslie Lloyd, Sr., 71, Rockmart, died Dec. 29, 2003. Mr. Lloyd was 
born June 12, 1932 in Odum, GA, the son of the late Thomas and Mattie Lloyd, He 
enlisted in the Georgia Army National Guard, attended and graduated from 
Officer Candidate Training and retired after 41 years with the rank of Colonel. 
He moved to Rockmart six years ago. His parents, his first wife, Madeline and a 
brother Thomas Lloyd preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife, Cindy 
Lloyd, Rockmart; sons, Ralph L. Lloyd, Jr., Rockmart; Jeff Lloyd, Newnan and 
Tim Lloyd, Conyers; brother, Jack Lloyd, Waycross; sister, Mrs. Malcom Scruggs, 
Woodbine; five grandchildren. Funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. Dec. 31 
in the chapel of the Bellamy Funeral Home, Hiram with Rev. Ken Cheatham 
officiating. Interment was in the Yorkville Baptist Church Memorial Gardens.
