The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, Ga., Tuesday, September 24, 1996
Rev. Chester McKibben, age 86, of 1326 McKibben Street, passed away Sunday, 
September 15, 1996.  Mr. McKibben was born December 22, 1909 in Polk County.  
He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church, serving as pastor and a deacon; 
a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 121 and an employee of the Goodyear Tire and 
Rubber Company for over 32 years.  Surviving are: wife, Zelma M. McKibben of 
Cedartown; son, Joe McKibben of Greenville, S.C.; two daughters, Mrs. Doyce 
Hooper and Mrs. Nell Alexander, both of Cedartown; sister, Anadene Ford of 
Whiteford, Maryland; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.  Funeral 
services were held Tuesday, Sept. 17, at 2 p.m. in Union Grove Baptist Church, 
with the Rev. Billy Swift officiating.  Interment followed in Polk Memory
