McKibben, 68, of Fountain Inn, SC, formerly of Cedartown, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2003. He was born in Cedartown May 11, 1933 to Zelma Maddox McKibben and the late Chester McKibben, and was married to Phorn Shumate McKibben. He served in the U.S. Navy as a radar man in the Korean War on the U.S.S. Oriskany, retired from the floor-covering business, was a member of Masonic Lodge 404, and was of the Baptist faith. Other survivors include daughters, Kim McKibben, Jeannie McKibben-Greene, Beth M. Landreth, and Trisha Williams; son, Chet Williams; sisters, Bobbie Hooper and Lanell Alexander; and six grandchildren. A memorial service was held Saturday, July 26, at 2 p.m. at Fountain Baptist Church of Greenview, S.C. Memorial contributions may be made to GHS Hospice, 255 Enterprise Blvd., Suite 140, Greenville, SC, 29615. Cremation Society of South Carolina was in charge of the arrangements.
