Stephens stephens2247@bellsouth.net January 29, 2007, 6:54 pm The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA, August 26, 2003 Thelma Camp Owen, 89, of Rockmart, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2003. She was born August 1, 1914, in Paulding County to the late Issac and Mamie Quick Camp. She was retired from Goodyear and was one of the oldest living members of Bellview Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert C. Owen, Sr., daughter, Lola Owen Lester; four brothers, and one sister. Survivors include sons, Curtis, Carl, and Donald Owen; brothers, Wesley Ray Camp and James Nathan Camp; sisters, Mary Gladys Garrett and Mavis Nichols; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, August 21, at 4 p.m. at Bellview Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond Cook and Rev. Jerrell Dickerson officiating. Interment followed in Bellview cemetery. Pallbearers were Bill Lester, Lee Owen, Mike Owens, Tony Owen, Jimmy Lester, and Willie Lester. Honorary pallbearers were Jack Sheffield, Jamie Newsome, and J.D. Nichols. Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
