He was the oldest son of the late Thomas H. and Martha Whitehead Booz, of Amherst, Va., who moved to what is now known as Boozville in 1859, when he was a small boy. At an early age he went west and located in Wyoming, later to Billings, Montana, where he was in the cattle business. He retired several years ago after his health failed. Surviving him are two sisters, Miss Kate Booz, of Cedartown, and Mrs. A. Willis Evans of Miami, Fla., two brothers, Ben Booz, of Chicago, and Tom Booz, whom he was visiting here, and several nieces and nephews also survive him. A brother, Will Booz, preceded him in death on Dec. 28, 1939. The services were conducted yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock by the Rev. Dr. Beall, and a quartet sang "Rock of Ages." Several friends from Rome accompanied his brother's family to the services. The interment was in the Cedartown cemetery.
