Booz Is Laid To Rest Here On Sunday Waller M. Booz, widely known citizen and son of Mrs. Mae Booz, proprietress of the Right House, died Friday afternoon after a brief illness at the hotel where he lived with his mother. Until his sudden illness Monday evening Mr. Booz was employed by the Rome Plow company in the Cedartown offices and had worked during the day Monday. As he was preparing to go out for the evening Monday he was stricken and, although conscious several times before his death Friday, no hope was offered by physicians for his recovery from the time of the first attack. Mr. Booz was a graduate of the Cedartown high school and of the University of Georgia. He was a member of the First Methodist church and prominent in the fraternal organizations in the city. For many years he was connected with The Cedartown Standard in a reportorial capacity, and until the time of his death was special correspondent for daily newspapers in Georgia and Tennessee. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Mae Booz; two aunts, Mrs. Kate Booz, of Cedartown, and Mrs. Willis Evans, of Miami; three uncles, Mr. John Booz, of Cedartown, and Mr. Tom and Mr. Ben Booz, of Miami, Fla. He is also survived by maternal relatives whose names are not available. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon and interment was in the Greenwood cemetery. Pastors of the Methodist, Baptist and Presbyterian churches officiated at the funeral services. The interment ceremonies were in charge of the local Masonic lodge, which executed the complete Masonic burial rites. The pall bearers were H. H. Hogg, William Parker, Jr., J. T. Batson, A. O. Sloan, D. O. Baker, and W. M. Casey. The Cedartown Standard, Thursday, January 16, 1936 RESOLUTION FOR W. M. BOOZ Whereas, the Great and Supreme Ruler of the Universe has in His infinite wisdom removed from among us one of our worthy and esteemed members, W. M. Booze, and whereas, the long and intimate relation held with him in the faithful discharge of his duties in this department makes it eminitely befitting that we record our appreciation of him; therefore. Resolved, That the wisdom and ability which he has exercised in the aid of the organization by service, contributions and counsel, will be held in grateful remembrance. Resolved, That the sudden removal of such a life from among our midst leaves a vacancy and a shadow that will be deeply realized by all the members and friends of the organization, and will prove a serious loss to the community and the public. Resolves, That with deep sympathy with the bereaved relatives of the deceased we express our hope that even so great a loss to us all may bt overruled for good by Him, Who doeth all things well. Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be spread upon the records of this organization, a copy printed in the local newspaper and a copy forwarded to the bereaved family. ----Cedartown Fire Department.--- Rome News, Sunday, January 12, 1936 Waller Moody Booz died Friday afternoon, Jan. 10, 1936, at 1:45. He was 45 and had been ill for only a short time. He was born in Tampa, Florida, May 15, 1890. He attended the University of Georgia and was a steward in the Methodist Church, a member of the Shriners, Kiwanis Club, Cedartown Volunteer Fire Department, and Country Club. His mother is Mrs. J.
