Mr. Robert Charles Smith, age 68, of Cedartown passed away Sunday February 22, 
1998, at his residence. Mr. Smith was born February 9, 1930, in Polk County and 
was a self employed tile setter. He was preceded in death by his parents, 
George W. Smith and Minnes Stephens Smith. Survivors include two daughters, 
Anita Smith Burns of Columbus, and Kimberly Charles Smith Bender of Ellerslie, 
Ga.; five sisters, Catherine Short, Shirley Dowdy, Betty Smith, all of 
Cedartown; Bonnie Laminack of Muscadine, Ala.; and Edna Stephens of the Atlanta 
area; five brothers, George Smith of Sarasota, Fla., Edward Smith of Bradenton, 
Fla., Billy Ray Smith of Silver Creek, Melvin Smith of Myakka, Fla., and Mike 
Smith of Cedartown; and two grandchildren. Graveside service for Mr. Smith was 
held Wednesday February 25, at 4 p.m. from Oak Grove Cemetery with the Rev. 
Robert Pyles Officiating. Interment followed in Oak Grove Cemetery.  Gammage 
Funeral Home of Cedartown was in charge of the arrangements. (Cedartown
