Stephens wend@bellsouth.net March 25, 2004, 12:42 pm (The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA., Tuesday, July 9, 1963) Mrs. Pearl Tanner, 79, of 648 Georgia Ave., died Friday after an extended illness. She was born in Gordon County, Aug. 27, 1883, and had lived in Cedartown for the past 49 years. She was a member of the Baptist church. Surviving are: one sister, Mrs. Belle Smith, Cedartown; three brothers, John Ferguson and George Ferguson, both of Cedartown, Jess Ferguson, Knoxville, Tenn. Funeral services were held Sunday at 4:30 p.m. from the Calvery Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Claude Collins officiating. Interment was in Jackson's Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Kermit Puckett, Lawrence Cooper, Hubert Cole, Eudell Cooper, Charles Tanner and Seals Glass. Olin Gammage Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
