Stephens wend@bellsouth.net March 25, 2004, 1:04 pm (Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA., Page 5, Tuesday, January 9, 1996) Charles Smith, age 71, of 222 Atlanta Street, passed away Saturday, December 30, 1995 following an extended illness. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Bessie Mae Ferguson Smith. Surviving are: wife, Eloise Smith of Cedartown; two daughters, Dean Arencibia of Cedartown and Charlene Kuhlman of Rome; two sons, Ralph Walter Smith, Sr. and Billy Ray Smith each of Cedartown; two sisters, Dixie Lewis and Edna Waters, both of Cedartown; brother, Buddy Eugene Smith of Marietta; twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 2, 1996 at 2 p.m., in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Garner and the Rev. Monroe Willingham officiating. Interment followed in Northview Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Freddy Arencibia, Jr., Ralph Smith, Jr., Bill Kuhlman, Joey Cochran, Jason Cox, and Randy Prewett. Honorary escorts were: C. R. Martin, Hershel Wright, Pud Willingham, Bud Stroup, Wallace Pitts, and Doug Landrum. The Gammage Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
