J.R. Waters, 79, of 148 Cason Rd., Cedartown passed away Saturday, May 10, 
2003. He was born in Polk County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna 
Ruth Smith Waters; son, Donald Waters; his parents, Dick and Lilly Mae Mabry 
Waters; granddaughter, Melinda Ann Pyle. Survivors include his wife, Opal Gay 
Waters; daughter, Betty Faye Pyle; step-daughter, Brenda Gale Peek; sisters, 
Sara Gray, Margaret Barber, Katie Waites and Shirley Waites; brother, McKinley 
Waters; 2 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; 6 step 
great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Monday, May 12 at 2 p.m. 
in the Chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Pyles officiating. 
Interment followed in Polk Memory Gardens. Pallbearers were Tim Waits, Ray 
Barber, Rickey Barber, Keith Pyle, Randy Waits and Tim Nix. Gammage Funeral
