Buddy E. Smith, 65, of 641 Wilshire Avenue, Marietta, passed away Friday, July 
30, 1999, in an out of town hospital. Mr. Smith was born April 16, 1934 in 
Cherokee County, Ala. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacquline Chandler 
Smith; parents, Bessie Mae Fergerson Smith and Charlie B. Smith; sisters, Betty 
Faye Mitchell, Edna R. Waters; brother, Charles W. Smith.  Surviving are: 
daughter, Cheryl Land of Marietta; and sister, Dixie Lewis of Cedartown; and 
three grandchildren.  Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 3, at 3 p.m., at 
Gammage Funeral Home with the Rev. Clifford Chandler officiating.  Interment 
followed in the Polk Memory Gardens. Pallbearers were: Clyde Lewis, Ricky 
Lewis, Herbert Lewis, Jr., Tonny Gravett, Ron Pruett and Mike Farmer.  Gammage 
Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. (Cedartown Standard, Polk
