Stephens wend@bellsouth.net March 25, 2004, 1:30 pm Rome Tribune October 19, 1946 Mr.Seaborn McKinley Smith who was born at Rock Run, Ala., December 20, 1923 had been a resident of the Esom Hill Community most of his life. He was a member of the Baptist church. Surviving are the widow, the former Miss Annie Shell, two sons, Ted Eugene and Tex Ridder Smith; a daughter, Margie Smith; the parents, Mr. and Mrs. James T. Smith all of Esom Hill; four sisters, Miss Charlotte Annell Smith of Esom Hill; Mrs Edith Gibson and Mrs Helen McCurdy, of Cedartown, and Mrs J. J. Taylor, of Piedmont, Ala.; the grandmother, Mrs. Alice Hudgins, of Bluffton, Ala., and Mrs Lela Mathis of Piedmont, Ala,; a niece, Carol Gibson, and a nephew, Jerry Gibson of Cedartown. Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock (CST) at the Salem Baptist Church, near Bluffton, Ala., with the Rev. W. C. Clenton officiating. Burial will be in the Piedmont, Ala., cemetery. The remains will lie in state at the residence until time for the services. Additional Comments: Son of James Thomas and Kate Rose Mathis Smith.
