Carl Himes, 93, of 1744 Mahan Road, Summerville passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 
2004. He was born March 31, 1910 in Clay County, KY. He was owner of the former 
A&W Drive-in and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was preceded in 
death by his wife, Thelma Himes; infant son, Carl Woodrow Himes; and his 
parents, Isaac and Lucinda Roberts Himes. Survivors include daughter, Joyce 
Peppers of Cedartown; sons, Bob Himes of Summerville, Charles Himes of 
Cedartown, Jim Himes of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Harold Himes of Cincinnati; 15 
grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted 
Wednesday, February 25 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home 
with Rev. Danny Decker officiating. Interment followed in Greenhills Memory 
Gardens. Donations may be made to Anna Kresge Methodist Church, P.O. Box 204, 
Cedartown, Ga. 30125. Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home was in charge of the 
arrangements. This announcement was made for the family by the Gammage Funeral
