Stephens wend@bellsouth.net March 30, 2004, 7:42 pm (The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA.) Carl Himes, 93, of 1744 Mahan Road, Summerville passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004. He was born March 31, 1910 in Clay County, KY. He was owner of the former A&W Drive-in and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Himes; infant son, Carl Woodrow Himes; and his parents, Isaac and Lucinda Roberts Himes. Survivors include daughter, Joyce Peppers of Cedartown; sons, Bob Himes of Summerville, Charles Himes of Cedartown, Jim Himes of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Harold Himes of Cincinnati; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, February 25 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Decker officiating. Interment followed in Greenhills Memory Gardens. Donations may be made to Anna Kresge Methodist Church, P.O. Box 204, Cedartown, Ga. 30125. Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
