Stephens wend@bellsouth.net April 17, 2004, 12:33 pm (Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA., September 30, 2003) Iva Carden Blissitt, 85, of 1812 Marie Way, Lawrenceville, passed away Sept. 24, 2003. She was born Sept. 23, 1918 in Crisp County and was a member of the Baptist faith. She was a retired educator and served in administration as a principal. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Phillips Blissitt; parents, Henry E. and Martha Watson Carden; and 10 brothers and sisters. Survivors include son, William Phillips Blissitt Jr.; daughter, Nancy Blissitt West; brother, James A. Carden; sisters, Betty Carden Wade and Sue Carden Johnson; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great- grandchild. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Sept. 25, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Litesey Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Hoffman officiating. Interment followed in Northview Cemetery. Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
