(Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA, April 15, 2004)
Helen Jones Bowden, 83, of Del Ray Oaks Calif. and formally of Cedartown passed 
away April 8, 2004 in Floyd County. She was born Jan. 26, 1918 in Floyd County 
and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cedartown. She was a 
retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. Mrs. Bowden was preceded in 
death by her parents, John and Willie Simmons Jones and husband, Charles 
Bowden. Survivors include: daughter, Cheryl Bowden Bilgin of Del Ray Oaks; 
brother, John Roy Jones of Cedartown; and one grandchild. A host of other 
relatives also survive. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, April 15, at 
4 p.m., in the Chapel of the Litesey Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Underwood 
officiating. Interment followed in the Northview Cemetery. The Lester C. 
Litesey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. (Cedartown Standard,
