Stephens wend@bellsouth.net April 17, 2004, 12:37 pm (The Rockmart Journal, Rockmart, GA, February 04, 2004) Mrs. Faye Wilder Boggs, 92, 497 Old Wax Rd., S.E., Aragon, died January 27, 2004. Mrs. Boggs was born May 2, 1911 in Cherokee County, Alabama, daughter of the late Joseph Tilden and Lucy Sheely Wilder. She was a graduate of Georgia State College for Women as well as West Georgia College. She taught elementary school in Floyd and Polk counties. She was active and held offices in Delta Kappa Gamma, an honorary educators association and in Polk County Retired Teachers Association. She was a long time member of South Broad United Methodist Church, where she was active in women’s organizations and taught Sunday school. Later she became a member of Aragon United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by husband, George Marshall Boggs; brothers, Joe Wilder and Frank Wilder; sisters, Mary Daniel and Dixie Wilder. Surviving are sons, Jim and Lynda Boggs, Rome; Joe and Norma Boggs, Columbus, GA and Dr. Gordon Boggs, Babson Park, FL; daughter, Marynan and Baker Allen, Chatsworth; brothers, Jack Wilder, Aragon and Ed Wilder, Folly Beach, SC; sister, Nan Williams, Aragon; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. The funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2004 from Aragon United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom McLean and Rev. Avery Dodd officiating. Interment was held in Flint Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Paul Allen, Jim Allen, Joe Allen, John Allen, Josh Boggs, Steven DuPree, Ben Entrekin, Jason Wilder, Scott Wilder and Kenneth Terry. Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Williams, Ted Moates, Jerry Albers, Odell Hall, Johnny Harlan Agan, John Bagwell, Al Miller, Bruce Brantly, Eddie Wilder and Dr. Tommy Williams.
