Stephens wend@bellsouth.net April 17, 2004, 2:32 pm (Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA., January 30, 2003) Karen Lee Bowling, 55, of 118 Shelia Dr., Cedartown, passed away Thursday, Jan 23, 2003 in Redmond Regional Medical Center. She was born in Rhinelander, WI, on Nov. 19, 1947, and was a member of The American Legion Auxiliary where she had served as treasurer. She was an accounting manager with Zartran. Survivors include her parents, Robert E. Smith and Georgia Kaskin Smith; daughter, Debra Proctor; sister, Diana Clarke of California; stepdaughters, Candace Little and Leslie Dean; and 1 grandson. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, January 26, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home. Dr. Daniel Armistead and Dr. Mike Jones officiated. Interment followed in Pleasant Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Silver Creek. Pallbearers were Donnie McKibben, Bill Adams, Jerry Tracey, Marty Eubanks, Steve Appley, and Jim Ellerby. Honorary pallbearers were the Brewster Cleveland Post #86 Honor Guard and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Gammage Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
