Edward Wood Brewster, 82, of Thornhill Lane, Atlanta, GA passed away Feb. 16, 
2003 following an extended illness. He was born Nov. 8, 1920 in Esom Hill and 
was a member of the Sandy Springs First Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday 
School. He was a member of the Rome Kiwanis Club and former pastor of the 
Friendship Baptist Church in Cedartown. Following his retirement, he was the 
president of Mr. WICK, Inc. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in 
the United States Air Corps. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil S. 
Brewster and Mary Wood Brewster; brothers, Joseph Brewster, Dr. Charles H. 
Brewster and Virgil Brewster. Survivors include his wife, Anne Griffin Brewster 
of Atlanta; sons, Dr. Edward Wood Brewster, William Fleming Brewster, both of 
Rome; daughter, Anne Somerville of Rome; brother, Vann Allen Brewster of 
Charlotte, NC; 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces 
and nephews. Graveside and interment services were held Wednesday, February 19 
at 1:30 p.m. in the Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens with Dr. William Flannagan and 
Rev. Scott Jackson officiating. Pallbearers were Carl Thacker, Charles 
Crawford, Doug Cunningham, Herb Mabry, Don Smith, Carlton Glover Pat Colquitt, 
and Howard “Doc” Ayers. Honorary pallbearers were Olin Bates and Curtis 
Goodnight. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart 
Association, P.O. Box 672648, Marietta, GA 30060. Daniel’s Funeral Home was in
