Sharon Briones, 40, 680 Goodyear Ave., Rockmart died March 11, 2004. Mrs. 
Briones was born in Rome, Ga. on August 15, 1963, a daughter of Franklin A. 
Phil-lips and Verna Jones Phillips. She lived in Chattanooga, TN as a child 
returning to Rockmart where she lived the greater part of her life. She 
attended the New Gospel Mission of Aragon. She was a former dispatcher of the 
Polk County 911 Center and for the past three years was employed by the City of 
Rockmart Police Department as the department secretary. Surviving are husband, 
Alex Briones to whom she was married on September 8, 1986; daughter, Sophia 
Briones, Rockmart; sons, Erik Briones, Dustin Briones and Asa Briones, all of 
Rockmart; mother, Mrs. Verna Shepp, Waleska, Ga.; father, Frank Phillips, 
Rockmart; step - mother, Pearlie Phillips, Rockmart; sister, Mrs. Patricia 
Hammond, Spring Hill, TN; grandmother, Mrs. Elizabeth Jones, Rock-mart. The 
funeral service was conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2004 at Bellview 
Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Cason and Rev. Reginald Campbell officiating. 
Interment was held in the Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery. Officers of the 
Rockmart Police Department served as pallbearers. The Alvis Miller & Son 
Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. (The Rockmart Journal, Rockmart, GA.,
