Mrs. Brookshire was born in Roswell, GA on June 24, 1917, daughter of the late Kathryn Samples Wallace and the late James Madison Wallace. She was of the Baptist Faith and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by husband, James A. Brookshire and daughter, Mrs. Grace Brawner. Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Edna Nix, Jefferson, GA, Mrs. Ruth Wade and Mrs. Shirley Gibbs, both of Rockmart; sons, Ray Brook-shire, Summerville, James Brook-shire and Edward Brookshire both of Euharlee; sister, Mrs. Dorothy Smith, Doraville.; brother, Dennis Wallace, Cedartown; 18 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. The funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003 in the Freeman Harris Funeral Home chapel with Rev. L.A. Tapp officiating. Interment was held in the family lot of Polk Memory Gardens. Pallbearers were Wayne Nix, Chuck Brookshire, Michael Brook-shire, Glenn Brookshire, Barry Gibbs and Steve Gibbs.
