Stephens wend@bellsouth.net April 17, 2004, 3:09 pm (Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA., June 09, 2003) Christine Gentry Williams Burnley, 79, of 1385 Taylorsville – Macedonia Rd., Taylorsville passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2003 in a Rome hospital. She was born July 18, 1923 in Polk County and was a homemaker and a member of the Hills Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J. Burnley and her first husband, Joseph Williams and her parents, Jimmy and Etta Green Gentry. Survivors include daughters, Clara Cox and Carolyn Williams, both of Taylorsville; step-daughter, Barbara Moore of Atlanta; sisters, Evelyn Carter and Myrtle Lewis, both of Buchanan; 2 grandchildren and 4 great- grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, June 5 at 2 p.m. in the Hills Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Chambers, Rev. Charles Garrett and Rev. Shane Hembree officiating. Interment followed in the Hills Creek Cemetery. Nephews served as pallbearers The Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
