Ettie Mae Brown, 99, passed away Saturday, Nov. 15, 1997. Mrs. Brown was born 
Oct. 17, 1898 in Paulding County. She was a former Goodyear employee and a 
member of the New Prospect Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by; her 
husband, Charles T. Brown; son, Charles E. Brown and daughter, Hazel Cash. 
Surviving are: son, Horace E. Brown of Jonesboro; four daughters, Lois Owens of 
Smyrna, Ethel Strickland of Union City, Mary White of Rockmart, and Gussie 
Childers of Douglasville; two sisters Mary Ella Wheeler and Frances White, both 
of Rockmart; 15 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren and great, 
great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m., 
from the Freeman Harris Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Ray Hopkins officiating. 
Interment followed in New Prospect Cemetery. The following grandsons served as 
pallbearers: David Owens, Charles Cash, Tommy Brown, Steve White, Bert White, 
and David Brown. The Freeman Harris Funeral had charge of the arrangements.
