Stephens wend@bellsouth.net April 30, 2004, 2:32 pm The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA, November 1997 Cecil Savage, 73, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 12, 1997 at his residence. Mr. Savage was born March 16, 1924 in Henry County. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Rockmart Masonic Lodge No 97, a Shriner, former Rockmart Goodyear employee, and a retired Cartersville Goodyear employee. Surviving are: wife, Marian Loyd Savage of Rockmart; two sons, David Savage and Steven Savage, both of Rockmart; daughter, Susan Carr of Rockmart; and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 15, at 2 p.m., from the Calvary Baptist Church, with Rev. Charles Williams, Rev. Wendell Rush, and Dr. Richard Smith officiating. Interment followed in Polk Memory Gardens. Serving as pallbearers were: Clark Sloman, Gerald Sloman, Bobby Sloman, John Foster, Edward Roach, and John Layfield. Honorary pallbearers included: Frank Statham, J.C. Gazaway, Bill Holland, George McBryde, and Nathan Johnson. The Freeman Harris Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
