The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA, November 1997
Joseph David Bassett, 70, of Taylorsville, passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, 1997 at 
his residence. Mr. Bassett was born Jan. 29, 1927 in Asheville, N.C.. He was a 
retired construction worker and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during 
World War II. Survivors include: two brothers, Pete Bassett of Asheville, N.C., 
and Bill Bassett of Taylorsville; and three sisters, Jessie Sparks, Barbara 
Bassett and Sherry Bassett, all of Asheville, N.C.. Graveside services were 
held Wednesday, Nov. 5, at Riverside Cemetery in Asheville, N.C., with Major 
Leonard Taylor officiating. The Freeman Harris Funeral Home had charge of the 
arrangements.
