(Cedartown Standard, June 7, 1917) 
Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Kennedy and son, George, returned last week from a sad trip 
to Louise, Tenn., having received a telegram of the death of their son and 
brother, Frank L. Kennedy, who died May 23d as the result of a kick from a mule 
he had been working in clearing land on his father-in-law’s farm, where he had 
been living for a number of years. He was thirty-four years of age, and a young 
man of good character, industrious habits, a consistent member of the M. E. 
church, always taking an active part in church work. He leaves a wife and three 
children, two boys and one girl, a brother and sister, Mr. Alfred Kennedy of 
Manchester, and Mrs. C. L. Freeman of Atlanta to mourn their loss. The bereaved 
families have the sympathy of their many friends here. (Cedartown Standard,
