Stephens wend@bellsouth.net May 1, 2004, 12:36 pm (Cedartown Standard, Thursday, October 17, 1918) Mary Irene Thompson Morris, passed away Friday after many months illness and funeral service were conducted Saturday morning at the residence on Stubbs street by her pastor, Rev. W. T. Hunnicutt of the First Methodist Church. The remains were taken to Rockmart for interment. Mary Irene Thompson was born April 25th, 1861, and was united in marriage Sept. 18, 1878, with Mr. Jas. M. Morris. Four children blessed their union, three of them surviving, Mrs. W. L. Burk and Mr. G. E. Morris of Atlanta, and Mrs. Irving R. Thomas of Cedartown. Another daughter, Mrs. J. M. Rudolph, died a few years ago at Canon City, Col. The deceased was an excellent Christian lady, a devoted wife and mother. Coming from a distance to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Lanham, Mr. and Mrs. Henderson, Lanham, Mr. and Mrs. Florence Smith, Miss Eva Thompson and Mr. Felix Lanham, of Rome; Mr. T. J. Morris, of Rockmart; Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Burk and Mr. G. E.
