Redding was born April 15, 1918 in Polk County. He was an Army veteran serving in World War II. He was preceded in death by wife, Annie Mae Nale Redding; parents, Joe Columbus Redding and Lizzie Mae Blackmon Redding; sons, Frank Nale and Robert Nale. Surviving are daughters, Annie Ruth Womack, Cedar- town, Margaret Diane Pritts, Florida, Ann Ward, Norcross, GA, Sue Mills, Ohio, and Jan Tober, Griffin, GA; sons, Larry Odel Nale, Plainsville, GA, Sam Redding, Griffin, GA; Lonnie Nale Jr., J.D. Nale, Ricky Leon Nale, Harold Eugene Nale, Rev. Joe Charles Redding Jr., Rev. John Henry Redding, all of Cedartown; number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2004 in the Gammage Funeral Home chapel with Rev. John Redding, Rev. Joe Redding Jr., Rev. Gene Clark and Rev. John Vines officiating. Interment was held in the Live Oak Cemetery with the Brewster-Cleveland Post #86 conducting full military rites. Pallbearers were Eddie Joe Nale, Toby Nale, Shane Nale, Darrin Nale, Timmy Jarrell and J.D. Nale. Gammage Funeral Home, Cedartown, had charge of arrangements.
