Stephens wend@bellsouth.net July 8, 2004, 2:20 pm The Rockmart Journal, Rockmart, GA J. C. Coalson, 79 passed away Thursday, Oct. 30, 1997 at his residence. Mr. Coalson was born August. 23, 1918 in Porterdale. He was a retired Goodyear security guard, a deacon of Calvary Baptist Church and a veteran of the U. S. Army having served during World War II. Surviving are: wife, Irene Hutcheson Coalson of Rockmart; son, Keith Coalson of Rockmart; two daughters, Brenda McClain of Rockmart and Marilyn Taylor of Hagerstown, Md.; two brothers, Byron Coalson and Wayne Coalson, both of Rockmart; two sisters, Mildred Hulsey of Dallas and Edna Miller of Rockmart; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 1, at 2:30 p.m., from the Calvary Baptist Church, with Dr. Richard Smith, Rev. Charles Williams and Dr. Barry Keaton officiating. Interment followed in Rose Hill Cemetery. Nephews serves as pallbearers. Deacons of Calvary Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers. The Freeman Harris Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
